Doug is driven by the desire to help his clients get their best Return on Life. His ability to connect with clients and truly put their interests first is part of his personal motto: “strengthen the stand.” Like a tree in a larger stand, Doug’s focus is on strengthening every community that he is a part of: his family, his business, his clients’ lives, and his town.
After working as a college financial aid administrator and admissions officer for almost a decade, Doug realized he had a passion and talent for educating and helping people plan for life’s major events. With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Doug not only believes in educating his clients but also continually learning on his clients’ behalf. Doug has held the Accredited Asset Management Specialist® (AAMS®) designation from the College for Financial Planning since 2005.
After 16 years with his previous firm, Doug opened Centennial State Wealth Advisors in May of 2017. He feels strongly that being an independent advisor aligned with Raymond James allows him to better serve his clients.
Doug paid his way through college at Willamette University and earned a double-major in political science and psychology with a minor in economics. He was a four-year letter winner on the soccer team and served his last two years as team captain.
Doug was born and raised in the Denver area and enjoys spending time with his family and being active in the community. Doug is past president of the Littleton Public Schools Foundation; Integrated Family Community Services; and of the Littleton Rotary Foundation boards. In addition, Doug has been a volunteer youth soccer coach for over 28 years and his family fostered infants through Collaborative Fostercare.
Doug and his wife, Erin, married since 1995, have four children and too many animals.
